About this software

OpenLiteSpeed is an event-driven HTTP server tuned for high concurrency. It includes a web-based admin console for editing configuration and inspecting traffic, and is bundled with LSCache, a server-level page cache used by many content management systems.

Where the admin console lives

By default the admin console listens on a separate high port — usually 7080. Open it in a browser, sign in with the credentials set during installation, and you can manage virtual hosts, listeners and cache rules without editing config files by hand.

If you have never set the admin password, run the password reset utility shipped with the package before exposing the console to the wider network. Leaving the default credentials in place is a frequent source of break-ins.

Where the site files live

The default document root for the standalone install is /usr/local/lsws/Example/html. Replace its contents or point a new virtual host at your own directory through the admin console.

Common next steps

Why this page is shown

You arrived here because the listener for this hostname is bound to the bundled Example virtual host. As soon as you create a virtual host with the matching domain name, that host takes priority and this page disappears.
